My services
-
Data visualisation
I visualize the relationships hidden in the data you already have, which includes both checking for the results you expect as well as uncovering new effects. I will present the results in the form of your choosing, whether that is a report, presentation, or interactive model.
-
Modeling and forecasting
I apply my statistical knowledge to build bespoke models for your data, allowing you to test specific hypotheses and see how different assumptions would affect the forecast of future results. This can either be a one-off, or I can create user-friendly models that you can continue to apply after the project is complete.
-
Advice on data collection
I provide advice on what data to collect to answer your specific questions, and guidance on how to collect it. Even more importantly, I can advise you on when some questions are infeasible to answer, and recommend different techniques to address this.
-
Research support
I can advise for both academic and non-academic research on a range of statistical topics, from probability theory to the practical application of statistical methods.
Skills
-
I have a broad knowledge of statistical theory, including:
- Standard frequentist methods (Generalised Linear models etc.)
- Time series analysis
- Bayesian statistics and hierarchical models
- Network analysis
And I’m always excited to learn novel techniques to take on new challenges. -
I use the R programming language and the tidyverse packages as my standard language for statistical analysis, and I am able to both work with existing code and supply you with easy-to-use code to use on an ongoing basis.
-
I have expertise in machine learning techniques, including theory as well as application, so I can use these when appropriate to get the most from your data, but also understand their limitations.
-
I can generate informative and readable plots to visualise the relationships within your data, and when desired use LaTeX to write these up into high-quality reports.
